1980's Cartier Santos 'Carrée' Godron
(ref. 2961)
It's always a special feeling when you acquire a watch that holds a special story and connection with the Cartier brand. This iconic piece was acquired from the family of the original owner, who was the Managing director of Le Must de Cartier and Alfred Dunhill for Australia, NZ and Asia in the 1980s. Cartier was at this time owned by Rothmans, one of the world's most popular tobacco companies.
The case measures at 29mm x 41mm and is constructed of Stainless steel & 18k Yellow Gold. It features the rarer style 'Godron' bracelet with 25 links and a hidden butterfly clasp. The watch winds, sets and runs strong. The condition of the watch is unpolished, honest and obviously loved. The original Swiss dial shows some warm patina throughout.
The daughter of the original owner did hope that this watch would come into the hands of someone who appreciated it as much as her father did. A promise we hope to deliver.
